EU GPSR Safety Documentation for BINDER Jewellery

2. Material & Safety

  • Alloy: 18-karat gold (at least 75% fine gold, remainder typically copper-, silver- or palladium-based). Skin-friendly, but allergic reactions may occur in particularly sensitive individuals – please remove the jewelry if irritation occurs.
  • Chemical safety: Nickel-free alloy core, in compliance with REACH and relevant EN standards for nickel release (e.g. EN 1811) and limit values for lead/cadmium.

3. Warnings & Instructions for Use

  • Small parts: Small components may come loose – choking hazard. Keep away from children & pets.
  • Do not use during: Sports, physical work, bathing, swimming, or sleeping – risk of injury and damage.
  • Damage: Do not use jewelry with loose settings, scratches, or fractures – may cause skin injury or loss of parts.
  • Care instructions: Clean with a soft cloth, store in a cool, dry place, avoid contact with perfume and chemicals.

4. Product Type-Specific Information

  • Earrings: Check the clasp before wearing; for fully healed ear piercings only.
  • Necklaces: Risk of strangulation – not suitable for children under 14 years. Always secure screw or clip fastenings.
  • Rings/Bracelets: Regularly check fit and secure fastening. Do not continue wearing if pressure is felt.

  • Compliance: GPSR (EU 2023/988), REACH, Nickel Directive, EN standards (e.g. EN 1811). Technical documentation and risk analysis are available and accessible to market surveillance authorities.
  • EU Representative: Friedrich Binder GmbH & Co. KG assumes manufacturer and importer obligations in the EU (Art. 4, 19 GPSR).

  • All warnings and safety instructions are provided as text on the product page of the BINDER online shop and in the languages of the sales regions (German and English). The information is also accessible via the certificate card enclosed with the jewelry.
